Jay Z and Beyoncé are the most powerful pair in the music industry. The couple is topping "Billboard's" annual "Power 100" list of music's most influential people. They earned the list's top spot partly because in the past year they've both "changed how the industry and fans thought about interacting with music."
Bey sent a shockwave through the industry when she released her self-titled "visual album" last month without any promotion. The rap mogul similarly altered music's landscape by teaming up with Samsung to give away one-million copies of his Magna Carta Holy Grail before its release.
Coming in behind Jay and Bey was Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge, followed by Coran Capshaw, the founder of multiple management agencies and record labels.
Live Nation Entertainment CEO Michael Rapino and Sony/ATV Music Publishing CEO Martin Bandier round out the "Power 100's" top five. Other names on the list are Ryan Seacrest, Cash Money co-founders Birdman and Slim, and Simon Cowell.
